They are perfect for Sunday meal prep or for showcasing the power of plants to any skeptical friends and family. And better yet, they only take a few minutes to throw together and require just a food processor and oven. So why not invite the neighbourhood over and show them how tasty whole foods can be?

Makes approximately 12 patties


1 ½ cups cooked quinoa
½ cup quinoa flakes
2 cups cooked chickpeas
2 cloves garlic
½ red onion, diced
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tbsp psyllium husk
1 tbsp dried rosemary
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp pink himalayan salt
1 tsp ground black pepper


Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Add the chickpeas, onion and garlic to a food processor and pulse until only small chunks remain.

Add the rest of the ingredients and process until everything is combined and the mixture starts to stick together.

Take a handful of the mix, shape into a pattie and press onto a lined baking tray. Repeat until all the mix is used up.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway, or until they start to become slightly golden.

Remove from the oven and stick between two buns along with all your favourite burger fillings.
