Working at GoodFor

GoodFor is proud to be a team of 80 passionate individuals working towards a shared goal of introducing slower living to the world. GoodFor attracts people who are passionate about food, health and the environment. Our day to day involves maintaining the stores, topping up stock and engaging with our community. We spend a lot of time with a cloth in hand, keeping the place spotless, but also get stuck in with sorting and unpacking stock as needed. We favour reliability and consistency, and welcome a broad range of backgrounds and experiences onto our team.

When applying for a role with us we ask that you take the time to introduce yourself fully - beyond your work experience - and make it clear what sort of position you are looking for. Please take note of the available positions and our checklist for applying at GoodFor at the bottom of this page.

    Role Description

  • Our Store Leads are often supported by a Deputy. The Deputy Lead role is even more floor-focused than the Store Leader, but has the skills and capacity to support administrative tasks as needed. They provide accountability, leadership and stability through a second relationship between the store and Head Office.

The Deputy Lead is at ease in a customer service role and thrives off building relationships with their community. They are naturally attuned to detail, and believe in doing little things well. Their role encompasses team development, community engagement and a hands on approach to daily operations. With training, they have the confidence & capacity to support the store in the manager’s absence, and enjoy the challenge. They contribute to the overall presentation and success of the store through implementing daily routines and working alongside the Store Lead to constantly innovate.

A week in this role is spent in front of customers and engaging with our customers on the shop floor. From time to time, they are engaged in the underlying admin of the store so as to be prepared to do so in the manager’s absence. The Deputy Lead is a consistent and ambitious team member that models the customer experience we are known for.

As a growing business, GoodFor values reliability, communication and attitude above all else. The Deputy Leader is motivated by playing a key role in a company that actively seeks to change the world for the better, through reducing food and packaging waste.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to write a cover letter outlining who they are beyond their experience.
