Cardamom has a strong, unique taste with an intensely aromatic, resinous fragrance. It is commonly used in Indian cooking and also in Scandinavian baking. 

Uses

Add cardamom as a sweet, warming flavour addition to curries, soups and stews. It is an absolute essential spice in curry powders, dahls and masalas. Cardamom also provides a lovely complementary spice to some sweet food and drinks, such as this Superfood Hot Chocolate, this delightful warming Superfood Turmeric Latte and this Chai Spiced Pear Crumble, providing additional depth of flavour and nourishing qualities to each of these recipes. Some recipes call for full cardamom pods while some may require you to crush and grind them into a powder using a mortar and pestle.
