About

Millet is one of the oldest foods known to man and is packed with plenty of nourishing plant-based goodness, in particular protein. It is widely grown as a cereal crop, originating in Africa and the Indian sub-continent thousands of years ago. This organic hulled millet has a nutty, slightly sweet flavour with a light, fluffy texture that makes it a very versatile grain in many sweet and savoury recipes.

Uses

To cook your millet, add a cup of hullet millet to 3 cups of water and bring to the boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer covered for about 20-25 minutes or until the millet is soft. Drain and fluff well with a fork before serving. Millet is delicious in just about anything, from breakfast bowls and salads through to soups and stir-fries, and of course as a grain accompaniment to all your savoury meals. Make it into this deliciousĀ Creamy Millet PorridgeĀ or this beautiful Millet, Harissa & Roasted Carrot Salad.Ā Add millet instead of rice or quinoa to any sweet and savoury recipes, such as stir-fries and veggie patties, cakes and muffins.

Use is my GF diet

Came across millet 9 years ago and itā€™s been a great GF alternative grain. To me, when cooked (like rice) the taste and texture is like a cross between couscous and quinoa (though a muchvsmaller grain). So glad to find some that can be bulk purchased with oneā€™s own container or delivered to your door in home compostable packaging. Thanks team!

Hulled Millet

Great to be able to get hulled millet. Of all the grains, it is the least acidic. I use it as an alternative in all rice recipes.

Such a good alternative to wheat! I started using it with my baby and I prepare it for myself now too
