Serious Popcorn

No movie night is complete without a big bowl of popcorn but the usual stuff is far from nourishing, so why not spice it up with these 3 super healthy and super tasty variations? Whether you’ve got a sweet tooth or are more of a savoury person, these delicious twists on a classic snack are sure to satisfy and can be whipped up in less than five minutes.

Matcha Sesame Ingredients

½ cup popcorn kernels (8 cups popped)

1 tbsp coconut oil*

1-2 tsp matcha

3 tbsp sesame seeds

1 tbsp coconut sugar

Coconut Curry Ingredients

½ cup popcorn kernels (8 cups popped)

1 tbsp coconut oil*

1 tbsp curry powder

¼ cup shredded coconut

Cinnamon Maca Ingredients

½ cup popcorn kernels (8 cups popped)

1 tbsp coconut oil*

1 tsp maca powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp brown rice malt syrup*

Method

To pop the popcorn, heat the coconut oil in a large sauce pan then add the popcorn kernels.

Place the lid on the pan and regularly shake the pot to toss the kernels.

After a few minutes the kernels will all be popped and at this point, turn off the heat.

Now add your choice of seasoning to the pot and toss until all the popcorn is evenly coated.

Transfer to a bowl and enjoy!
