Organic Pinto Beans


Pinto Beans are the all rounder of beans. Fat-free, their creamy texture lends them to a wide variety of uses in the kitchen. Pinto beans are a good source of protein, phosphorus and manganese, and very high in dietary fibre and folate. They support cardiovascular health. Pinto beans have long-been used in Mexican main meals and side dishes.


To cook pinto beans, start by pre-soaking them overnight or for 12 hours with a ratio of 1 cup of beans to 4 cups of water. This step is important to make the beans’ nutrients accessible and the beans themselves more digestible. Pinto beans can be used in salads, soups and stews, and are particularly popular in Mexican cuisine. Add them to your recipes for Mexican chilli, burritos and tacos for a nourishing and tasty filler.
