Organic Wheat Whole Dressed


This organic whole wheat has been carefully nurtured by organic farmers with minimal processing and full traceability and accountability throughout the whole process. Wheat grain has a slightly nutty and very fresh flavour and it is versatile for use in many sweet and savoury recipes.


Whole wheat can be sprouted and ground down to make a lovely wholegrain flour for use in baking, and in particular to make bread. Whole wheat can also be used as any other grains in salads, soups, stews and as a base for curries and stir-fries. To cook wheat, add one cup of wheat to three cups of water and bring to the boil then reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, for additional flavour in your wheat, add it to plenty of stock or broth and allow it to simmer away for about three hours, or until nice and tender. If you want to reduce the cooking time of your wheat, pre-soak it in water for up to 12 hours.
