Organic Rye Grain


This rye grain has been organically grown without the use of any harsh fertilisers or sprays and with no added preservatives. It has a fresh, rich earthy flavour and aroma. Rye is a versatile grain that can be sprouted, made into flour or cooked in both sweet and savoury recipes.


Most commonly rye grain is used to produce a fresh wholegrain flour that can be made into delicious rye bread. It can also be sprouted and enjoyed as a grain filler in salads, wraps, soups and stews. To cook rye, add one cup of rye and three cups of water to a pot then bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes then turn the heat off and leave to stand with the lid on for about 10 minutes. Cooked rye grain can be kept in an airtight container for up to three days and thrown into salads and hot meals upon serving.
