Organic Oat Bran

About

Oat bran is the outer husk of the oat grain; soft fibrous flakes of bran that have been separated from the whole oats. Oats are well known for their nutritional benefits and it is oat bran that contains the bulk of the dietary fibre and protein that oats are known for. Oat bran has a light, naturally nutty aroma and taste, and is a great addition to breakfast foods, baked goods and many sweet and savoury recipes.

Uses

The nutty deliciousness of oat bran is perfectly used in baked goods like muffins and breads, adding a distinctive texture and slight oaty flavour. Add a tablespoon or two to smoothies, granolas, cereals, porridge, chia puddings, yoghurt or fresh fruit, as well as any of your baked goods like energy balls, muffins, breads and cakes. Soups and stews can benefit from a little oat bran for a delightfully thick and satiating consistency. Oat bran also works well as a dusting on loaves of bread and banana loaves, acting as a crusty topping once baked.
