Organic Dhal Toor


Dhal toor is a type of legume which is traditionally eaten in Indian cuisine. Most commonly, the pods are eaten alongside vegetables in a wide range of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Dhal toor provides good levels of protein and dietary fibre, helping to keep you full for long periods of time. These legumes have a sweet, slightly nutty flavour and scent when cooked.


Dhal toor is traditionally used in Indian curries and stews as a hearty and satiating filling alongside an array of herbs, spices, vegetables and sometimes meat or cheese. Dhal toor is also a delicious addition to burger patties and fresh salads. Before cooking dhal toor, rinse the beans thoroughly and you may also choose to soak them in water for 2-4 hours to shorten their cooking time. Dhal toor can be added directly into curries, soups, stews and other recipes.
