Organic Cocoa Powder
Cocoa powder is produced when cocoa beans are roasted then milled down into a powder. It differs from cacao powder in that it is not raw because it undergoes roasting. While heat-sensitive nutrients are maintained in the production of cacao powder, cocoa powder still has significant health benefits and definitely has a place in your pantry. This cocoa powder is organic, unsweetened and 10-12% alkalised. It has a fine texture, medium brown colour and gives a full rich chocolate flavour to baked goods. It can be used in any chocolate-based recipe for baking, confectionery, beverages and more. Cocoa powder provides health-supportive antioxidants and is a great source of magnesium and fibre.
Just one tablespoon of cocoa powder can go a long way in transforming a dish. Chocolate smoothies, breakfast bowls and beverages that include cocoa powder can be a great way to start your day, giving you a significant hit of energising antioxidants. To make a delicious chocolate-y beverage, mix two teaspoons of cocoa powder with milk (or water) to make a paste and then heat it up with your favourite milk. You could add a little sweetener or even coffee to turn it into a mocha. Cocoa powder goes lovely in baking (particularly icing cakes), confectionery, puddings and desserts. It is also great for whipping up a chocolate sauce to drizzle over ice-cream or to dip your fresh berries in.
