Himalayan salt is rock from a mine in the Punjab Region of Pakistan. The salt sometimes occurs in a red or pink colour, with some crystals having an off-white to transparent colour. This fine ground salt is a delicious addition to both sweet and savoury recipes, enriching the little flavour profiles involved. The fine light version of himalayan rock salt is a wonderful pantry staple and a more nourishing substitute to table salt.

Uses

This fine light himalayan rock salt is the perfect all-purpose salt to season many savoury dishes, as well as a salty addition to some sweet dishes, such as this Salted Caramel Fudge Brownie. Add a pinch to your porridge or smoothies to contrast and enhance the sweet flavours, or lightly sprinkle over your savoury dishes upon serving. It is great for seasoning roasted veggies, seeds, nuts or even popcorn for a delicious salty flavour. Fine light pink himalayan salt can also be combined with your favourite herbs, dried spices and pepper as a meal seasoner/topper or accompaniment to dipping oil and sourdough bread.
